ILR has implemented the following policies beginning today, MONDAY, MARCH 16th until further notice. We will re-evaluate our policies continuously during this period based on the advice of the medical community, Wisconsin DHS and the CDC. As ILR staff and consumers are people living with a variety of disabilities, it is vital that ILR does all that it can to protect staff and consumers during this time.

Effective beginning today:

  • ILR offices are open and operating but the buildings are closed to the general public.
  • All face to face contacts with consumers and community providers will be on hold until further notice. We will continue to provide services and supports as best we can by phone and email.
  • Rave Recovery Avenue Drop In Center is closed and all Rave activities, including support groups, are cancelled until further notice.
  • The Homeless Outreach team will continue providing services by phone, email, etc.. If you are wanting to make a referral for someone who is homeless and they do not have a phone, please contact ILR and ask to speak to one of the Homeless Outreach staff so that the staff can help problem solve how to get connected with the consumer.

Centers for Independent Living  (CILs) help people with disabilities achieve or maintain more self-sufficient and productive lives in their communities. People with disabilities are assisted in exploring alternatives to institutionalization and are encouraged to make their own decisions about how they will live. CILs directly provide or coordinate through referral those services which assist people in increasing their abilities to exercise control over their lives. Control over one’s life means having a choice of acceptable options that minimize reliance on others in making decisions and performing every day activities. This includes managing one’s own affairs, participating in day-to-day community life and fulfilling a range of social roles.
