Peer Support
Over half of the staff and board at ILR have a disability.  We are also connected to groups, committees, and causes in the community that value the strengths of individuals.  Peer support can be provided directly by staff or by finding options for the person in their community.

Some examples of Peer Support include:

  • Identifying support groups
  • Getting involved with a committee representing a unique disability related issue
  • Taking part in social activities at the Rave drop-in center
  • Finding activities, clubs, and events that apply to the person’s interests

Connecting individuals with similar life experiences is a value we encourage others to find.
